HabitArte
The Bogotá Mayor's Office, through the District Habitat Secretariat, has implemented the Habitarte strategy, an initiative aimed at transforming environments through art and colour. This proposal seeks to generate processes that consolidate neighbourhoods' social, economic, and physical development, fostering community participation and dialogue so that residents can take ownership of their surroundings and strengthen their sense of belonging.
HabitArte is a strategy that embraces inclusivity. It is based on the creation of urban art, where citizens, drawing from their knowledge and love for their territory, participate in conceptualising the works. The strategy focuses on beautifying facades and common spaces and includes training and entrepreneurship initiatives, integrating all Bogotá residents into actions that enhance their quality of life.
Among its most notable achievements are the largest murals in Bogotá, located in Rafael Uribe Uribe, Santa Fe, and Usaquén, and a megaproject called 'La Mariposa,' which invested 60 billion pesos in seven neighbourhoods in the Cerro Norte sector.
